YouTube turns street biker into overnight star

Check out this video featuring stunts performed by Scottish biker Danny MacAskill, 23, who became an internet sensation when his film received over 2.5 million views in the week it was posted.

MacAskill’s flatmate Dave Sowerby posted a video he had made of MacAskill’s stunts around Edinburgh, on an internet biking forum. From there it ended up on YouTube, and has now been viewed more than 12m times.

Within a week, MacAskill was being bombarded with sponsorship deals and invited onto TV talk shows, and now rides for Red Bull. Amazing what a couple of friends with a camcorder and a huge dollop of talent can achieve.
